The Low Reach Floor Tool does not have spinning bristles. It has bristles that surround the head and are retractable for using on carpet. When in "carpet mode" it has similar red "lint brush" type of strips that the standard accessory Stair Tool has. I've never seen the Hard Floor tool, but it seems like this might be similar, but with the retractable bristles for carpet.

Have a DC-14 and after a few uses, I have to physically blow out the cyclone assembly with compressed air. It has so many different orifices that I had to add about 18" of 1/4" tubing to my air gun to get it cleared enough to work. Messy!!! Is there another way to clean this unit? No instructions came with the vacuum about this. Also, how does the mini turbine head attach to the unit? It appears that I may be missing a piece and it doesn't seem to work very well.

Zork, the powdered rug cleaning stuff worked amazingly well on a large wool Navaho rug I keep on the floor. It was very dirty and I needed to send it to the expensive oriental rug cleaners. I tried Zork and used a broom to get it spread and into the fibers. I was amazed at how well it worked. This stuff is amazing for situations like mine. It would also be great for couches and such.

[...] Like I said before I had my eye on the Dyson DC14 for a long time… I have been browsing through Amazon, Sears, Target, etc trying to find the best price, but there are about 10 different DC14 models or kits available and I was not sure which one to get. I finally read up on the various accessories and compared the different DC14 models. After reading reviews tons of reviews and a price I finally liked I went with the refurbished Dyson DC14 Full Kit model for $339.99 plus Amazon, had a $25 off coupon bringing the total to $314.99, tax free, shipping included. I was SOLD [...]
