Not long ago and far away, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip…but there were problems everywhere.
Four of his elves got sick, and the trainee elves didn’t produce the toys as fast as the regular ones, so Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule.
Then Mrs. Claus told Santa that her Mom was coming to visit. This stressed Santa even more.
When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and were out…heaven knows where to. More Stress!
Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the boards cracked and the toy bag fell to the ground and scattered the toys.
Totally frustrated, Santa went into the house for a cup of coffee and a shot of whiskey. When he went to the cupboard, he found the elves had hid the liquor and there was nothing to drink.
In his frustration, he dropped the coffee pot and it broke into hundreds of little pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found that mice had eaten the straw it was made from. Just then the doorbell rang and Santa cussed on his way to the door. He opened the door and there was a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.The angel said: “Where would you like me to put this tree fat man?”

My first week at work was completed. It went well. We launced the first site I will be working on and it has already been crawled, which is good news…we will see how everything else goes with this site.

I woke up way late to my roommate asking if I was going to work. This was after 8:15. I call in sick to work and go back to bed. I sleep until about 3:30. I went to bed atabout 11pm last night, which is early for me. I feel like shit, I am still tired and my head hurts. It seems like once a month I need to get a good solid 16 or so hours of sleep. I guess just to catch up? Anyway you lok at it it sucks.

Cat Dissection-Superficial Muscles

I helped my roommate work on his cat dissection lab today. It has been a while since I have done anything like this. I would say close to 10 years. I started by taking pictures, for personal use with artwork and to allow him to study them. Kinda fucked up… The last time I saw anything remotely similar to this was when I was at UIC late one night working on a painting and a teacher/grad student was working on dissecting a bird that her cat had killed.

This is what Eric had to say after returning from working on a movie:
“Many we produce ethnographic and anthropology-related documentaries. We just finished a 5 part, 6 hour series on the Kalahari bushmen of Africa that spans the course of 50 years of documenting them from their hunter-gatherer beginnings to their difficulty in maintaining a life on simple ends.”

I hung 8 paintings up in my room this weekend. It really looks nice now. I put the giant 50×50 little girl painting up, and I love it. One day I will Update the site so you can view it.
Just to describe it: it is 50×50 with 3 colors. Pink, black and white. The background in a barcode in black and pink which spells out a significant phrase. Then about actual size is a little girl holding a doll that is a cut-out in white.
I really like it. If you stare at it, it fucks with your eyes. Painting it drove me crazy. One day I plan to make a series of these… I know what I would do for the next one. Today I came across some clipart which may apply to future projects.

Weekend recap:

in 2003,Werty

Removed nipple rings
Researched numerous things
Got these Chax / Gloomy the bear that Mike aka DOC ordered for me from japan. The robot one was okay, the Gloomy one was brilliant.
Rented some movies, Roger Dodger and May. Roger Dodger was good, a little less than what I was expecting. Actually it was really good, just ruined by what I was expecting. May was completely f’d up. It is about this girl who is a bit “weird”. It turns out she is a complete loon. It gets silly(as in stupid) near the end.
Feel like complete and utter shit today. Hot/cold/headache/crunked up stomach.
Cleaned, did laundry.

Went to a few bars that I am not a “regular” at, and ran into a few “blasts from the past”. The first was this girl Liz who I used to work with at Anthropologie. That was kinda cool… we never actually talked while I worked there and I did not even know her name…

I finally got a new cell phone. It took about two days, 5 lines at best buy, numerous customer service calls and 108 dollars but I now have a phone. Email me your number and I will give you a call or my number. I can be reached at my first initial, followed by my last name at yahoo; g(lastname)@yahoo.com.

So I purchased a new cell phone today, I come home and try and activate it and they say the ESN(electronic serial number) is already activated. What the shit? Fuck you best buy. Then I call up my computer manufacturer, to see If i can get the WLAN problem straightned out. Of course I cannot. He suggests I return it to the store and get a brand new one, since it may be an error on the motherboard or something. Too bad I installed about 10 programs, a 4 gig backup of a movie of my Grandparents and 10 gigs of mp3s)c: I think I will see if they will put this on hold and I can try the new one out for a day to see if it is my network or the computer that is fucked. I do not think it is my network that is bad. Oh well.

So I got a laptop today. It is pretty rock’n. I cannot get the fucking 802.11b (wi-fi, wireless networking) to work properly. I am not sure if it is the computer or if it is something wrong with my hub/router/access point. I will have to cruise to a wireless cafe and see if I can connect there.

Storm of the century happened while I was at work today. It was not that exciting really. The google dance (update for you non-geeks) is about to stop which is nice. So two days ago I somehow managed to crack my neck and cause some serious pain. It was great; I could not move my head to the left at all. I was freaking out and wondering if I would have to go to the doctor or what. I ended up doing some massaging of it, which would send serious shivers of pain and cause me to do nothing but take giant breathes…it was intense. Anyhow, I woke up yesterday morning and could barely move. I called into work and went back to bed. At about 1pm I woke up still sore and had nothing to do. I ended up watching the breakfast club and a bunch of TV. It was extremely boring, and a waste of a day. I could barely move and when I would I would just tense up from the pain. It hurt to sit, it hurt to lie down. It sucked. I had some Arnica Gel and rubbed that into it numerous times…it seemed to help, and today it feels much better.

This weekend wasn’t so hot. I did not do anything other than make a mad ass dinner on Friday. Saturday I went to my grandparents and helped out around their house. Then my parents came out there. yada yada yada.

{ 0 comments }

So let’s see what has been going on:

Been crazy busy at work.

{ 0 comments }

So I am finally done with school. It is quit a nice feeling. So finishing up today was the good news. The bad news is I start work full time tomorrow. 9-5 every weekday from now on. I hope I find some meaning in my life because that is certainly not it. It will be nice to have a steady income. Plus I will have some shitty insurance coverage, but I can choose my own doctor, so no more trucking over to UIC to wait for a few hours. Well back to the school thing. I am going to apply at a few schools who actually offer night classes, I am thinking Columbia and the Illinois Istitute of Art. I will see how much they cost and what kind of financial aide is available. I could honestly care less about the classes. I would just like a chunk of mine to transfer in from COD and UIC. In theory I should be a junior or senior, the keyword here being theory.

{ 0 comments }

So my only goals this weekend were to get a little bit liquired up, do my taxes, clean my desk, pay some bills, call a few people, call my mom, cook, relax and prepare some art related things for school… So far I have gotten drunk, called a few people, started to clean my desk and thought of one thing to do for school. I wish it was a three day weekend.

One Long Ass Meeting

in 2003,Werty

So I was in a meeting for like 7-8 hours today. It was pretty interesting and I am glad that I attended it. Hopefully this will help me communicate more openly with people I may have felt intimidated by before. Also it felt good to be part of the decission making process that will decide how exactly the company will be run for the next year or so…until we adapt the plan down the road. Tomorrow I know we meet again and discuss what we went over today and actually set up our goals and rewards program. Monday I assume that we will present it to the rest of the company and try to explain everything that we learned. I learned a new term today. ROS. Return on sales. Thats a new one. Very important to our business.

It is Saturday night and I am not drunk. I had a moderately productive day. I woke with an extreme hangover and no recollection of leaving the bar last night. I ate some breakfast and needed coffee. I then went back to bed for a bit or at least attempted to do so. Well after this my sister and I went to visit my grandparent. They seem to be doing well. After this we went to trader Joes where I purchased a bunch of groceries. Then we went to target and I wasted some money on things I do not need. Mainly shampoo and Crest white stripes. Maybe one day I will have pearly whites.

I went to work today. blah blah blah

Then I went to the art institute. It was pretty good. I took my camera and took some pictures of some of the work that I like. I wish I had more time to spend there. Also I wish there was less of a crowd. It was super nice out today. I think it reached 70 degrees.

Beware Of Umbrella

in 2003,Werty

So I am currently on my lunch break and experienced one of the funniest things a few minutes ago.

{ 0 comments }

Work was blah today. There is about 80 hours of work I need to do and about 10 hours this week to do it. I am not very happy with this. Nor am I happy with that entire place. It seems many of the employees feel the same way. Kind of sad. There was great potential when the company was purchased 4 months ago, however the people in charge seemed to have killed the momentum by stalling and stalling. We will see what happens with it….

What happens in Canada stays in Canada

So yeah. just doing a little test. We will see what happens.

My day started with my U-pass not working. I was pissed. So it will not cost me $3.00 everday to go to work, $4.50 on the days I go to school. $18 a week)c: And I wanted to start saving money.

So I come after my adventure today and crash right on out on my bed for a good 7 hours. Maybe I am getting ill? Either that or it could be depression related? What a weekend it was. Got home at about 8pm after working late and deciding to get some new kicks. I like them alot. Also some guy walking towards me totally was checking the kicks out, I knew he was impressed.

March 11, 2003 · 0 comments

in 2003,Werty

So I went to work today. Nothing but blah. Went to school and did the layout on my painting. I think it should look pretty rock’n when it is done. I love the main image, and the background is a barcode, which could actually be scanned, that is if you had a 50″ barcode scanner(c:

{ 0 comments }

So I had to dress like a square today. Wool pants, shirt tucked in, dress shoes. The shoes and the pants I do not mind, but I hate tucking clothes in.

I got to work just in time for the Monday Morning Meeting. This was one of the slowest meeting to date. I came back to my desk and drank my coffee and ate my blueberry bagel.

{ 0 comments }

So I had some more computer problems today:
1.Struggled to update the templates on this, only to have blogger not save the changes. Hopefully it is fixed now. I wonder if it is due to me updating the blog through blog buddy,which somehow stored the old template. The counter and the rating buttons are back on it now. Hopefully they will stay. The ratings say I got 251 votes, if so that is crazy. Normally I get 2-3 pageviews a day.
2.The second computer problem was with my blasted wireless internet card. What a pain in the ass. I downloaded new drivers for it, hopefully that will solve all the stupid problems I have been having. It seemed crazy fast 1.8MPS after the update, which is brilliant.

{ 0 comments }

So this weekend I did not touch the booze, which is a good thing. The only time I went out was to go to my grandparents house on sat. Krissy and I stopped at Kasia’s Deli. We got some grub for the family to eat. I dropped 20 bones on it. It was well worth it. The whole family raved about it. They had really good potato pancakes. I also purchased some pork tenderloin, being a veg. I did not try any.
