Cat Dissection-Superficial Muscles
I helped my roommate work on his cat dissection lab today. It has been a while since I have done anything like this. I would say close to 10 years. I started by taking pictures, for personal use with artwork and to allow him to study them. Kinda fucked up… The last time I saw anything remotely similar to this was when I was at UIC late one night working on a painting and a teacher/grad student was working on dissecting a bird that her cat had killed.

I think this might be the brand of glasses that I purchased today. Hopefully they will help prevent some of the eye strain that I have been having at work. I had to drop $200 on the damn things, including the exam. The best thing is that I have insurance. What a fucking joke. I need to find a nice optometrist in Chicago for the future.
Or baseball for that matter, but I am watching the cubs game…and sammy sosa just cracked a 2 score homerun and tied the game. I could see the reaction on the tv and hear it from my neighbors. It was refreshing, gave me a sense of community and sent a shiver down my spine.

Just to describe it: it is 50×50 with 3 colors. Pink, black and white. The background in a barcode in black and pink which spells out a significant phrase. Then about actual size is a little girl holding a doll that is a cut-out in white.

I finally got a new cell phone. It took about two days, 5 lines at best buy, numerous customer service calls and 108 dollars but I now have a phone. Email me your number and I will give you a call or my number. I can be reached at my first initial, followed by my last name at yahoo; g(lastname)@yahoo.com.
So I purchased a new cell phone today, I come home and try and activate it and they say the ESN(electronic serial number) is already activated. What the shit? Fuck you best buy. Then I call up my computer manufacturer, to see If i can get the WLAN problem straightned out. Of course I cannot. He suggests I return it to the store and get a brand new one, since it may be an error on the motherboard or something. Too bad I installed about 10 programs, a 4 gig backup of a movie of my Grandparents and 10 gigs of mp3s)c: I think I will see if they will put this on hold and I can try the new one out for a day to see if it is my network or the computer that is fucked. I do not think it is my network that is bad. Oh well.
So I got a laptop today. It is pretty rock’n. I cannot get the fucking 802.11b (wi-fi, wireless networking) to work properly. I am not sure if it is the computer or if it is something wrong with my hub/router/access point. I will have to cruise to a wireless cafe and see if I can connect there.
Storm of the century happened while I was at work today. It was not that exciting really. The google dance (update for you non-geeks) is about to stop which is nice. It seems like it is almost back to “normal”. There has been a definite algorithm tweak, seeing as though certain things do not have the weight that they used to.

So this weekend was pretty interesting. I went to a show at DePaul on Friday and watched Volta Do Mar and Pelican. Pelican was pretty good. They sound like Isis and now have a light show…just like Isis. I would rather see Isis, but they are not from Chicago, so I will be happy that I saw them play.

So I was tired as hell today. I had a brilliant brainstorm before I went to bed last night involving affiliate marketing programs and internet advertising, oh the misspellings (c:
So Saturday I woke up at 11:45 am when my cell phone received the weather alert. My mouth was dry and the sun was beating in through the curtains. I got up and worked on the gizmo quiz. I had a few hours to kill and James was still sleeping on the couch.
So last night the El Cid Drink/Eat a thon was a success. I had a good time and it was nice to see all the old crew.
Here is a review of the places we went:
I think I may try to re-design this thing using CSS in the near future. I have been playing around with them at work and there are some cool things that they can do. I think I might move servers yet again, this time opting for something a little more robust.
I had a pretty good weekend. I watched ‘Catch Me If You Can’. I liked it, kind of long. I liked that it was based off of a true story. I wonder how much was real. Also I wish I could get away with some of the things that Leonardo DiCaprios character got away with.

So the song Blue Monday by New Order FUCKING RULES.
Anyhow, this weekend was pretty good. I went out with Tony (Sean) on Friday. Got a bit sauced. Saturday I went shopping with Ana and we rented Igby Goes Down. I liked it.
So two days ago I somehow managed to crack my neck and cause some serious pain. It was great; I could not move my head to the left at all. I was freaking out and wondering if I would have to go to the doctor or what. I ended up doing some massaging of it, which would send serious shivers of pain and cause me to do nothing but take giant breathes…it was intense. Anyhow, I woke up yesterday morning and could barely move. I called into work and went back to bed. At about 1pm I woke up still sore and had nothing to do. I ended up watching the breakfast club and a bunch of TV. It was extremely boring, and a waste of a day. I could barely move and when I would I would just tense up from the pain. It hurt to sit, it hurt to lie down. It sucked. I had some Arnica Gel and rubbed that into it numerous times…it seemed to help, and today it feels much better.
This weekend wasn’t so hot. I did not do anything other than make a mad ass dinner on Friday. Saturday I went to my grandparents and helped out around their house. Then my parents came out there. yada yada yada.
So let’s see what has been going on:
Been crazy busy at work.
Saw Identity tonight. It was pretty allright. The twist at the end was almost predictible and one could say it was WEAK ASS. I would recommend it to others.

So I am finally done with school. It is quit a nice feeling. So finishing up today was the good news. The bad news is I start work full time tomorrow. 9-5 every weekday from now on. I hope I find some meaning in my life because that is certainly not it. It will be nice to have a steady income. Plus I will have some shitty insurance coverage, but I can choose my own doctor, so no more trucking over to UIC to wait for a few hours. Well back to the school thing. I am going to apply at a few schools who actually offer night classes, I am thinking Columbia and the Illinois Istitute of Art. I will see how much they cost and what kind of financial aide is available. I could honestly care less about the classes. I would just like a chunk of mine to transfer in from COD and UIC. In theory I should be a junior or senior, the keyword here being theory.
Crunch time. Working on finals, and I want to start from scratch. I just had a brilliant idea for a piece/series: imperfections of mass production.
Ugh…too late to start that, but perhaps I can stil pull it off. After all I have 14 hours until it is due…and a new painting to start before hand…
Permanent link to this post (56 words, estimated 13 secs reading time)
So yeah…I still have a ton of work I need to do for finals. I found this amazing site: Cockeyed.com I spent many an hour there reading everything.
I am now in finals….I bought my supplies this weekend, and this week is going to kill me.
I got some rest this weekend, but I am still sick. I know that I will be working my ass off on projects for school throughout the week, so we shall what condition I am by the end of it.
I am sick now…stayed home from work yesterday. Coughed up green chunks. Took a 4 hour nap today and drank about a gallon of soup. Coughed up larger green chunks. Feel like shiz. I think I know who I caught this from. Thats what I get. I still have a pile of stuff to do here. Send a few letters and rebate forms and such. ALso i have 2 final projects I need to do for school. This is going to kill me. One is going to be some painting based off of language. I do not have an idea completely for it yet…and I do not know if I will think of something. But like all semi-talented artists I can just rip off someone elses idea and give it a twist. I am just not please with the assignment…I guess the abstract way would be a bit more interesting, but I have never planned an abstract and it scares me. I was thinking that I could do one based off of a person from my past. We shall see what he thinks of the idea. I would not mind working on it, as it may release some of the tension that has been up in the brain. No VIOXX this year. My photo class I am clueless what I want to do. So I decided to use an idea that I have been wanting to do for a while. My roomate said he would model for me…so I think it would be interesting. Hopefully I can get a portion of that done some night this week so I have time to think about it and work on it next week. Critiques start in about 10 days…UGH. I need to figure out if I can take classes next semester and over summer………………………fun.

So it feels like these Crest White strips are making my teeth melt…they cannot be good for them…oh but you will be so white. Tomorrow I get to go to work then off to paionting and then to MCA for my photo class. What does this mean?? Well for started another paper is due…and second is that I can walk to Water Tower and Bloomingdales afterwords… I am thinking shopping spree. I do not really have any money. Actually I have no money. I found out today that UIC does not have a payment plan…so I owe one giant Lump sum of 2015.22 or something to them…yippee. So what is left in my account after this azz reaming can go towards my 250 Circuit City balance…and if there is anything else left I can maybe put that towards my credit card debt…so much fun. I may have to throw down and buy tickets to go see Radiohead, tortoise, beck, interpol, the beastie boys, the roots, and about 20 other great bands in New York…It is only 150 dollars with camping and 2 days worth of tickets…I think it would be a blast. I posted it on my board and some people are interested in going. Also I may be going to Boston for my work for a Search Engine Convention. Kind of nerdy, ut it would be great to go and meet all the pro’s in my field. I may also be goin gto Los Vegas this summer for some heavy drinking and gambling with the Windsor crew…we will see if i can afford it though…I totally would have been able to prior to the UIC reaming….fun fun.
So my only goals this weekend were to get a little bit liquired up, do my taxes, clean my desk, pay some bills, call a few people, call my mom, cook, relax and prepare some art related things for school… So far I have gotten drunk, called a few people, started to clean my desk and thought of one thing to do for school. I wish it was a three day weekend.
So I was in a meeting for like 7-8 hours today. It was pretty interesting and I am glad that I attended it. Hopefully this will help me communicate more openly with people I may have felt intimidated by before. Also it felt good to be part of the decission making process that will decide how exactly the company will be run for the next year or so…until we adapt the plan down the road. Tomorrow I know we meet again and discuss what we went over today and actually set up our goals and rewards program. Monday I assume that we will present it to the rest of the company and try to explain everything that we learned. I learned a new term today. ROS. Return on sales. Thats a new one. Very important to our business.
It is Saturday night and I am not drunk. I had a moderately productive day. I woke with an extreme hangover and no recollection of leaving the bar last night. I ate some breakfast and needed coffee. I then went back to bed for a bit or at least attempted to do so. Well after this my sister and I went to visit my grandparent. They seem to be doing well. After this we went to trader Joes where I purchased a bunch of groceries. Then we went to target and I wasted some money on things I do not need. Mainly shampoo and Crest white stripes. Maybe one day I will have pearly whites.
I do not feel so hot right now. I did eat some sushi which was good, but i am just dead tired.
Work was an interesting one today. I had to buy lots of stuff for the SEO department of my work. I think I caused a stop on american express card. A bit odd. I will be getting some new software, a membership to two sites…and I hear that new computers are on the way(c:
I went to work today. blah blah blah
Then I went to the art institute. It was pretty good. I took my camera and took some pictures of some of the work that I like. I wish I had more time to spend there. Also I wish there was less of a crowd. It was super nice out today. I think it reached 70 degrees.
Well lets see. Today is Tuesday in the wee hours of the morning. I am still up from Monday and dead tired.
Here is what I did today. Work. From 9am until 6:30pm…eeeek. I need the money and I had stacks of shit to do. I still have a ton more to do for the rest of the week/month life. Oh yeah…It is April Fools day.
Oh yeah and we will see if we get this picked up by the SE’s:

So I am currently on my lunch break and experienced one of the funniest things a few minutes ago.
Work was blah today. There is about 80 hours of work I need to do and about 10 hours this week to do it. I am not very happy with this. Nor am I happy with that entire place. It seems many of the employees feel the same way. Kind of sad. There was great potential when the company was purchased 4 months ago, however the people in charge seemed to have killed the momentum by stalling and stalling. We will see what happens with it….
What happens in Canada stays in Canada
So yeah. just doing a little test. We will see what happens.
My day started with my U-pass not working. I was pissed. So it will not cost me $3.00 everday to go to work, $4.50 on the days I go to school. $18 a week)c: And I wanted to start saving money.
So I am back from Canada. It was pretty fun. Lots of idiots in the town though. I drank like a fish and gambled away like 150 Canadian Dollars. It was a good time though. I was playing blackjack next to a 80 year old woman. How good is that?
So I painted for about 6 hours or so yesterday. The painting looks pretty cool. I still have another 2-3 days of work that are left on it. Tuesday I will be using all black paint, which means my pants will get covered with it. Yup.
So I come after my adventure today and crash right on out on my bed for a good 7 hours. Maybe I am getting ill? Either that or it could be depression related? Maybe the change in weather and me not dressing appropriately. No clue. It is now 1:15 am and I should think about going to sleep so I can work tomorrow. WOOO!
What a weekend it was. Got home at about 8pm after working late and deciding to get some new kicks. I like them alot. Tsubo, I guess now I am either completely hip, or a complete yuppie…or somewhere in between. So far I have gotten a few compliments on them. Also some guy walking towards me totally was checking the kicks out, I knew he was impressed.
So I went to work today. Nothing but blah. Went to school and did the layout on my painting. I think it should look pretty rock’n when it is done. I love the main image, and the background is a barcode, which could actually be scanned, that is if you had a 50″ barcode scanner(c:
So I had to dress like a square today. Wool pants, shirt tucked in, dress shoes. The shoes and the pants I do not mind, but I hate tucking clothes in.
I got to work just in time for the Monday Morning Meeting. This was one of the slowest meeting to date. I came back to my desk and drank my coffee and ate my blueberry bagel.
So I had some more computer problems today:
1.Struggled to update the templates on this, only to have blogger not save the changes. Hopefully it is fixed now. I wonder if it is due to me updating the blog through blog buddy, which somehow stored the old template. The counter and the rating buttons are back on it now. Hopefully they will stay. The ratings say I got 251 votes, if so that is crazy. Normally I get 2-3 pageviews a day.
2.The second computer problem was with my blasted wireless internet card. What a pain in the ass. I downloaded new drivers for it, hopefully that will solve all the stupid problems I have been having. It seemed crazy fast 1.8MPS after the update, which is brilliant.
So this weekend I did not touch the booze, which is a good thing. The only time I went out was to go to my grandparents house on sat. Krissy and I stopped at Kasia’s Deli. We got some grub for the family to eat. I dropped 20 bones on it. It was well worth it. The whole family raved about it. They had really good potato pancakes. I also purchased some pork tenderloin, being a veg. I did not try any.
So I was goign to go to bed a good hour or so ago and I saw that Google was dancing…so I checked some keywords…posted a few messages and found some spam.
I reported it and had a little conversation with a google employee and whammo. goodbye spam. Google Rules. Yes yes.
so i fixed some stuff on here. ruined some other things….i dunno. we will see what happens….the links work now for the most part
it all seems to be working now. go me…

So I am currently working on a photo project.
I have a long shitty week of work ahead of me. The one guy I work with is off in vegas getting married. I think that is pretty cool, however I am certain that my work load will greater than it normally is.
a little tiny bit tipsy now.
i did not feel like drinking tonight. i had one beer at my friends art show. it was kinda cool. at some fancy hair salon. the owner was tatted up something fierce.
it was nice to see chris and rob.
so i think google may be updating soon
i would like to get this page “google friendly”
here is a link to the archives. just until i can update the template of this piece so it actually runs properly. that will require me setting up SSI server side includes
so i placed this puppy on the server yesterday. got gallery up and running. uploaded some photos. redid the search engine. it shoudl now search the archives which is pretty awesome. plus it uses a template which is also great.
so i moved to a brand new web server. it will take some playing around. there will be some artwork up shortly. if you are tech savy you can probably find out where i put it.
so my grandma is out of the hosptial now. she got out 2 days ago. so that is very good. gong to visit her tomorrow.
this morning i saw the smoke from this
went to a training session at work and when it was over the smoke was gone. word. i am sure it will be on the news tonight.
so my grandma is now an official cyborg.
she had a pacemake installed today.
the operation should have taken 15 min, it took 2.5 hours. not sure why.
i got home at about 10:30 and heard news from my sis.
14 hour work/school days rule.
so i get home from school tonight to find out my grandma is in the hospital. her heart beat got down to 27 bpm. she has to get a pacemaker installed tomorrow…
i called her when i found out. she kept telling me that she hopes i sleep allright. that she hopes grandpa sleeps allright.
so i just pulled a glass sliver from the ball of my foot…and it now hurts more…i am glad it is gone though…eek. it was pretty big. much larger than the entrance wound…go figure.
so i am now back at school. i go t and thurs from 9am until 6:40 pm. this is killing me. oh yes. my photo2 class requirs 12 hours of outside of class work a week. that is a bit crazy. the painting class will require another 6. my time based media class i think i can put 1-2 hours of work in and just use mad skills to replace the time that is called for.

so i am a lazy ass. this weekend i spend 24 hours in my bed. 16 of those hours i had company.
i have a ton of shit to do for school tomorrow. and tons of work related tasks as well. i have 3 meetingsthis week. monday morning week recap. tuesday with client. thursday with google. friday is my work party.
allright…so i will do a weekend recap that isnt as poor as the previous post.
wed: worked until noon then went to class. didnt do much of anything there. then went to taco bell with McKenzie. I havent had taco bell for a long while.
thunksgiving fucking ruled.
yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum
tofurkey, not worth the 20 dollar.
good recipe for marinade though. 1/8 cup OJ, 1/8 soy sauce, 1tbsp of brown sugar. mix, and spread that on some potatoes, carrots and onion. throw them up in the oven in some tin foil for 45 min at 350degrees
so lets see here. i was up late again last night. had a guest. no hanky panky. i did get bit however.
i picked my classes. my new schedule will be work 8/8:30/9 until 4:30 m/w/f and school t/th from 9-6:40 sweet sweet fun.
i will be taking photo II, painting I, and intro to time based media or time based arts. something like that.
so i think i have my choices for my classes next semester. i want to go full time once again. i have a full scholarship, so i may as well use it. the classes i would be taking are photo II, Time based media, and Printmaking I.
so lets see here.
i just went to a blackhawks game. it was pretty awesome. this guy, jay, on my message board posted that he got 100 tickets. so i invited like 8 other people and we went. there was another 40 or so in our group. it was rowdy as hell and a great time. there was tons of chanting going on. my voice will probably be gone tomorrow.
well lets see. it has been a while since i last posted. busy with school and work and such.
last night i saw bowling for columbine, i want to move to canada more then ever now. oh yeah. the movie was great. i suggest you all see it. i want to write micheal moore and see if he addressed the lack of wheelchair ramps at the walmart headquarters.
so i havent posted in a bit.
lots of stuff going on still. finals are approaching.
they want to give me more hours at work.
i drank like a fish this weekend.
i read about a book a week.
i sold my camcorder on ebay.
the guy who bought it seemed okay at first.
now he seems like a complete douche.
i will be happy when the transaction is over with.
he sent me money real fast like. over paypal.
i sent the camera on friday. he emailed me sat and sunday. same fucking email.
“i need the tracking number”
i sent it usps. so no tracking number. they said it will arrive tuesday. it is insured for 1000 so i am not worried if he doesnt get it or if it gets to him damaged.
i have a ton of homework that i must do this week.
i dunno. busy busy busy. too busy for my own good.
this isnt going to post because the server i host lightblueextra on is a complete pile of shit. i need to look into changing hosts.
next weekend i plan on not drinking myself into a stupor. we shall see what happens with that.
Permanent link to this post (203 words, estimated 49 secs reading time)
so it is now sunday. i watched the bears game. they are terrible. i am a bit hungover.
andy ended up crashing on my couch last night. that kid got rocked, as well as locked out of his apartment
i went to the owls show last night. they were pretty awesome. it was like watching cap’n jazz
so yeah. i went to my room and did some homework. then i recieved some calls. i was an overall ass on the phones. i had a good chat with marisa. i am going to her house tonight for a party. i never made it to logan square.
done with work and school. thinking of what i want to do tonight. lots of options. none seem that attractive. i wish i didnt have to work tomorrow. that way i could go out and get sauced. wind up in a strange bed in a stranger place.
humm. what an odd day.
i checked my email from work today. i had a search report from atomz. the company that does the search on this here site. anyhow someone looked for “torrey” twice, “dallas” once, “bitch” once, and “anth” once.
i went to my grandparents today. my parents also went. it was actually nice to see everyone. my dad didnt even yell. the family made fun of my hair. i told them i was probably never going to cut it again. i think it is great.
so james came out last night and we watched some shitty televison. then we went to rainbow. it was pretty allright. lots of cute girls and the drinks are pretty cheap. we had 4 rounds in less than an hour. after this we went to estelles. we met up with my sis and d.
so my homework this weekend is to draw a picture using an entire papermate pen. i worked on it an hour or so and then went and had 2 drinks at club foot. i come home and work on it some more and the f’n pen runs out. i am not done yet. no where near done. i need more ink. more. i demand it.
so comments now work. i had to set up a script on my server to do that. i am suprised i remembered how to do that. it has been a long while.
Permanent link to this post (33 words, estimated 8 secs reading time)
maybe one day i will fix this page. at least make it so you can add comments. i had it like that at one time, however something seemed to go wrong with the comments because my server licks some serious taint.
oh yeah…the reason why it was called blast from the past…
this guy bob called me. i havent seen him for like four years. he called me out of the blue. it turns out the kid is a rock star down in cali. he is gonan be visiting in jan.
so my nap ended up being a few hours long. now i am still tired and think i will just sleep. this means that tomorrow i will have tons of work to do.
at least i will be well rested. i think i may still go and do about 5-6 drawings tonight and try and hit the halfway mark.
so there is somewhate of a werty v2.0 now… i dont know when it will be a full working page. i would really like to learn flash…just so i can make the page amazing. i have always wanted to learn flash…the new version seems pretty swanky. i like that you can import video. i like video quite a bit.
so it is now my bday and i am at work.
so the whole weekend was a bust. i feel like hell. it is sunday night, i am now 24. and not a thing has changed. whoopde do.
anyhow saturday was hell because i had to shoot this fucking movie with butch. i think some of it went really well. other parts may have been complete crap. i guess we will see soon enough.
so i am now sitting here eating lunch. i made a mock chicken sandwich. i got some new bread from whole foods last night. it is super good and hearty. it has chunks of millet in it. f’n good. also i put fresh basil on the sandwich. basil has become one of my favorite herbs. in addition to the sandwich i have a motts nerd style snack pack of apple sauce. and some 365 brand vanilla/chocolate cookies, also mad delicious.
allright. the last few days have been a blur.
i worked a few days. helped butch make a movie. redid a web page. drank myself silly on the weekend. unpacled my stuff from the trip. unpaclked some more stuff and moved in a little more.
